Riley Mills & Desiree Heath

Desiree and Riley were introduced by a mutual friend - one Desiree had met at Mt. Zion middle school church camp and who Riley later met as a roommate at Dallas Christian College. July 2017 rolls around and their mutual friend lets each of them know that he thinks they would be great together and that they should meet. They both agreed, but weren't going to get too excited yet - how many times does a mutual friend introduction lead to THE ONE? That's only in movies, right?

While their meeting started in friendship, the two couldn't deny how much they enjoyed spending time together and soon, their mutual friend was being bombarded with texts/calls/Facebook messages with when they could all get together again. Light flirting here and there, but no solid clues as to what the other was feeling - their mutual friend knew but WAS NOT telling.

After a board game/movie night with Riley's family and their friend, Riley got up the courage to ask Desiree for her phone number. The two exchanged numbers and made plans to get together the next day with their friend for dinner and a movie; keep in mind, Desiree still had no idea if Riley was interested in being more and same for Riley - they needed to be sure in a group setting first. The next day arrived with plans all set, then their friend backed out and said the pair should go to dinner alone.

WHAT?! I can't do that! I don't know what they're feeling and I'll just make a fool out of myself! Tell me what they've told you!

Nope. Find out for yourself! replied their friend.

With no hint or guess as to whether this was a date or friend hangout (BIG LEAP OF FAITH, Y'ALL), Riley and Desiree kept their plans. Riley went to pick up Desiree for dinner at BoomerJack's (Riley paid, so maybe a date?), then they went back to Desiree's apartment to watch American Horror Story. After some serious debating on the episode's content and laughing together, that magic moment happened - Riley and Desiree shared their first kiss (YAY!!)

Riley and Desiree have shared many more memories and wonderful moments since then (#SaveTheBabyBears), and they are looking forward to many, many, MANY more - starting with their trip down the aisle to say - more likely, shout for joy - "I DO"!

Mother's Day weekend of 2019 was definitely one for the storybooks! That Friday, Riley had graduated from Dallas Christian College with his Bachelor's in Business Administration (YAY!!!) Desiree's family came in later that night so there could be a dual celebration - Riley's graduation and Mother's Day. Saturday begins with Desiree and her family going out for some Mother's Day time and pampering before joining Riley and his family in Waxahachie. TX for the graduation party.

Due to some bad timing on Desiree's part and the need to stop for balloons for the party, the Heath family showed up to the party a couple of hours late (oops). No worries, though - Riley introduced Desiree's family to his, and the party continued! Riley let Desiree know that he was required to give a speech later since he was the graduate. After a little while, Riley got up to start his speech like he said he would - only he asked Desiree to stand up beside him. (Okayyy??)

"I want to thank you all for being here and being there for me to help me through school, and now as I graduate. This weekend is about more than just my graduation, it actually involves a couple of parts - like all the mothers for example."

*YAY MOMS*

"The other part of it," - pause as Riley turns to Desiree - "involves you. I love you so much, Desiree, and I can't imagine my life without you. There's really nothing else left to say except," - pause as he gets out the ring box, gets down on one knee, and Desiree starts tearing up - "will you marry me, Desiree Noelle Heath?"

After a pause only because she's ugly crying like Kim Kardashian, Desiree says, "YES!" and hugs/kisses/smiles like a madwoman into Riley's neck before slipping on the beautiful ring.

Riley and Desiree are so excited to start (officially) planning their happy ever after and are looking forward to #AMillsTimesYes!
