  • Our Story

    Dear Family and Friends,

Since most of you only know one or the other of us, here is a place where you can learn a little about us.

My name is Hosanna Krahn. I have lived in northern Minnesota my entire life. My family owns a farm and corn maze that we all end up helping with a fair amount. I enjoy playing piano and accordion, and have done some piano teaching. I love working with children and have spent several summers working with CEF and at camps.

Nathaniel Bladine grew up in Wisconsin with six brothers and a sister. He loves camp work and has worked at several throughout the years. He is very thoughtful, humble, and hardworking. He enjoys board games and woodworking, and is currently working construction in Ohio. That is where we will live after we are married.

Nate and I met at Northland Camp and Conference Center in Dunbar, WI, in the summer of 2017. He was on program at junior camp and I was a counselor, so we got to work with and get to know each other a bit. At the end of camp, I went home, and Nate stayed to work as an intern at Northland.

Summer of 2018, Priscilla and I worked at Northland once again. Nate and I ended up in the exact same roles, and so we got to work together some more, but I had no idea he was interested in me until after the last week or junior camp.

Siblings are wonderful people, and Priscilla got a tip from Nate's sister that he wanted to talk to me, but there didn't seem to be any opportunities. We were busy all day and worked different schedules. I helped in the store in the evenings, and Nate started hanging around when we were getting close to closing up for the night. So Priscilla contrived to give us some time when there weren't campers around, and she and the other worker stepped into the next room to "do some work". I didn't know at the time, but Priscilla had determined that they weren't going to come out of that room, other than to take an occasional peak at us, until we came and told them it was time to go to bed. I could tell Nate wasn't as relaxed as normal, and just had a feeling, so I stayed around too, and we talked. It took a little while, but finally Nate got around to asking me if I would be interested in us getting to know each other better, and pursuing a relationship. I was interested, (as you should be able to figure out without me telling you:) and gave him Dad's phone number.

Dad and Mom made a quick trip out to meet Nate, and then, with my parents blessing, we started our relationship. It was late in the summer, so we only had a few busy days left, but they were good days. Then, on March 23rd, Nate came for a surprise visit and gave me the ring! We have only seen each other a few times since August, but we keep in contact through video calls, texting, and the occasional letter or e-mail. I don't think we've had any days yet without communicating at least some. God has blessed us greatly and we thank Him for bringing us together and look forward to what He has for us in the future.
