This non-profit serves people right around the corner from Jen and Bobby's apartment. Uplift Northwest is on a mission to provide dignified jobs and job-readiness services to men and women experiencing poverty and homelessness in the Puget Sound Region (Seattle area). Uplift Northwest has operated continuously in Seattle since 1921. They connect men and women with life-changing job opportunities.

Donate to UpstreamPgh (was Nine Mile Run Watershed Association)

The UpstreamPgh (Nine Mile Run Watershed Association) restores and protects one of Pittsburgh's watershed ecosystems while working regionally to support and implement resilient solutions for a healthier urban environment. This watershed spans the region where Bobby and Jen used to run around and explore when they were first getting to know each other and Jen partnered with this non-profit on her graduate school capstone project.

Over the last 16 years, they have made a measurable impact on the quality of life for humans and other living creatures, and have helped lead the region to a more sustainable approach to managing stormwater and climate challenges.
